While I created the Holiday Reminder Alerts (HRA) service with print-on-demand (POD) businesses in mind, it never occurred to me until I just read an excellent article by Jamie Northrup (aka The Minimalist Hustler) on Medium that it could be used for something else that so many writers struggle with.
His article is called “When All Else Fails Turn to This Simple Writer’s Block Cure” and I love the simplicity of his concept. I also love, of course, that he has found another way to make use of those national and international days, weeks, and months, of which there are currently over 3,000 on the HRA database.
Jamie references a site called Days Of The Year, which is one of many such sites on the Internet these days. And those sites are great for what he recommends in his article – you don’t need advance notice of those days.
However, with HRA, you will get notified of those events (and birthdays of famous people) in plenty of time to make use of that information. With respect to POD marketers, you will have time to create designs, launch products, and run marketing campaigns.
And even if you don’t use the HRA service as a cure for writer’s block, you could still write articles on these weird events, either as fiction or non-fiction, with a view to ranking for those events in advance of them taking place. (Each event on the HRA is linked to the five-year search trend on Google Trends so you’ll know when you need to start your work.)
HRA is already a great and, as at the time of writing this, unique service to help ensure POD entrepreneurs never run out of inspiration for new designs and products. Jamie’s idea is just one more reason to join now.
